Chorok Scalp Reset Bar
A solid Korean scalp bar that clears buildup, calms irritation and gives thinning hair a healthier place to grow from.
How to use
Step 1: Apply to Scalp. Wet your hair, then draw the bar along your scalp in rows, three or four passes each. Skip the lengths.
Step 2: Activating Massage. Work the lather into your skin with your fingertips. Massage for a full 60 seconds, so the 12 botanicals get real time on your scalp.
Step 3: Rinse Clean. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Skip conditioner for the first two weeks while your scalp resets, and store the bar somewhere dry where it can drain.
Is this soap, or is it shampoo?
This is a shampoo bar, and the difference matters more than it sounds. Traditional soap bars sit at pH 9-10, and in hard water the soap binds to minerals and leaves a waxy film. That is the "my hair felt worse" story in every soap bar review you have read.
Chorok is a syndet bar: the same cleansing chemistry as liquid shampoo, just with the water taken out. It rinses clean in hard water. No transition period, no vinegar rinses.
Can I keep using minoxidil or my serum?
Yes. Use the bar in the shower, dry your scalp, then apply your topical as usual. Chorok doesn't replace your treatment; it makes sure it goes onto a clean scalp instead of a layer of oil and old product.
When will I notice something?
Your scalp changes in days. Your hair changes in months.
Hair grows roughly about 1 cm (half an inch) a month, so month three is the first time you're looking at hair your scalp made under new conditions. Everything above that length you'd already grown before you started.
It's not a quick fix, it's a cycle — which is why The Full Ritual is three bars.
How does it work?
Your scalp is skin. Oil, dead cells and product residue build up on it the same way they do on your face, and that layer sits exactly where your hair grows from.
A solid bar has no water in it, so what is left is the working part. You apply it straight to the scalp instead of diluting it through your hair, and the cleanser lifts that layer without stripping the barrier underneath.

The Korean approach
Korean haircare starts one layer down.
For men and women, every hair type.
In Korea, the scalp gets the same attention as the face: cleansed properly, kept calm, never stripped. Most routines skip that step and spend everything on the lengths, which are already grown. Chorok moves the care to where the next hair is forming: a concentrated bar you apply straight on the scalp, with 12 botanicals and no water to dilute them. One minute, every wash.
The routine
How to use it
A simple three step routine, and the middle one is the one that matters.

Apply to scalp
Wet your hair, then draw the bar along your scalp in rows, three or four passes each. Skip the lengths.

Work it in for 60 seconds
Fingertips, never nails. Set a timer the first few times, because a minute is longer than it feels.

Rinse and let it drain
Skip conditioner for the first two weeks while your scalp rebalances. Store the bar somewhere it can dry.
Why we treat the scalp
Hair can't change in two weeks. It has to grow first.
Scalp hair grows about 1 cm (half an inch) a month so three months is roughly when hair grown in a healthier scalp reaches the mirror. It's also why The Full Ritual is three bars.
What to expect
The first eight weeks.
Nobody tells you this part, so here it is — including the bit in week two that isn't flattering. Knowing it's coming is the difference between sticking with it and giving up.
Your scalp settles first
- Itching and tightness ease within a few washes
- Flaking starts to reduce
- Your hair may feel heavier or slightly waxy
- That's your scalp still making oil at sulfate levels. It passes.
The oil rebalances
- The waxy feeling goes
- Hair washes cleaner with less product
- Most people stretch a day longer between washes
- Roots stay less flat on day two
Less in the drain
- Noticeably less hair in the shower and on the brush
- Scalp stays comfortable between washes
- No more mid-week itch
- Change is gradual — photograph your part in week one
It changes in your hands
- Texture at the root feels different
- Hair holds a style longer
- More body when it air-dries
- Visible density still needs three months. That's the hair cycle.
What's in every bar
Why Chorok?
Against the shampoo bottles that promised more than they delivered.
Compared with a typical sulfate-based liquid shampoo in a plastic bottle.
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from regular shampoo?
Mostly the bottle. A bottle of shampoo is about 80% water in a plastic bottle you replace every six weeks. This is the same wash with the water and the bottle taken out.
And because it is solid, you draw it along the scalp itself, three or four passes, rather than pouring it over your hair and hoping some of it reaches the skin. That is where buildup sits, and it is why hair lifts at the root afterwards.
How long until I notice something?
Scalp comfort first — less itching, less tightness, less flaking — usually inside one to two weeks. Hair is slower. Density and texture run on the follicle's own cycle, so give it three months before you judge it. Anyone promising you visible regrowth in six weeks is selling you something.
I have curly, fine or thick hair. Will it suit me?
Yes. The bar works on the skin, not the strand, so your hair type matters less than you'd expect. If your lengths are dry or curly, bring conditioner back on the ends after the first two weeks.
Does it work for both men and women?
Same bar, same formula. Buildup and barrier damage don't differ by gender. The reason people arrive differs — postpartum shedding, a receding hairline, a flaking scalp — but the starting problem is the same.
Is it safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
We won't give you a blanket yes on that. It is a rinse-off cosmetic with no pharmaceuticals and no hormones in it, but pregnancy is exactly when you should ask your midwife or doctor rather than trust a product page.
Will it dry out my hair?
No. It is a gentle cleanser that lifts buildup without stripping the oils your scalp makes on purpose. The first two washes can feel unfamiliar if you are coming off a silicone shampoo — that is the coating rinsing out, not damage.
Do I still need conditioner?
Skip it for the first two weeks while your scalp rebalances, then add it back on the lengths only, never on the roots. If your hair tangles more in week one, that is the silicone coating leaving, and it settles.
Can I keep using minoxidil or my serum?
Yes. Use the bar in the shower, dry your scalp, then apply your topical as usual. Chorok doesn't replace your treatment; it makes sure it goes onto a clean scalp instead of a layer of oil and old product.
How long does one bar last?
About a month of daily use. Store it somewhere it can drain between washes — a bar left sitting in water will not last as long.
What if it doesn't work for me?
Email us within 60 days and we refund you in full. You don't need to return the bar and we won't ask you why.
Sixty rather than thirty because comfort is what we promise, and comfort shows up in weeks rather than days.
Where do you ship?
Worldwide, with tracking. We send your order within 24 to 48 hours, and most orders arrive 6–10 business days later.
Customer reviews
I don't know if it's real or because I've been looking in the mirror since day 1, but it looks like I have more volume and my hair is thicker.
the funny thing is that my girls mentioned it while they didn't even know that I switched from shampoo to your bar
grateful :)
My scalp was constantly tight and flaky and I knew that I needed change to my curl routine. Three weeks in it had settled completely. My hair feels different at the roots too.
O M G!!! I AM SOOO HAPPY WITH THIS. A NO BRAINER YOU HAVE TO GET THIS!! thankssss
I was sceptical about a bar. But it lathers better than my old bottle, it lasts months, and there's noticeably less hair in the drain.
I've been asked to leave an honest review. And in all honesty, you guys did everything right. This is not one of those soap bars that promises you the world.
My scalp is not itchy anymore and together with the scalp oil I have my own little hair routine <3
My daughter gifted me 2 bars for my birthday in May, because she knows how much I care about my hair. After all these years I can assure you this has been the best birthday gift ever.
2 of my friends also have subscription now and they can't stop talking about how it has improved their skin and hair.
I wasn't ready for finasteride and I wanted to start somewhere sensible. Two months in my crown looks fuller and my scalp doesn't feel greasy by day two anymore.
The shower used to be full with my hairs and let'snot talk about the bathroom afterwards. After 3-4 weeks this slowly started to reduce. I'm now using Chorok for over 3 months, and I can happily say that I don't need to clean the entire house of my hairs anymore
